Q. Does the seed get pushed through that tube by air?
A. No, the individual mini-hoppers are filled from central-mounted seed hoppers with 3 ½" poly augers in steel tubes which flex to match wing flex and fold requirements.
Q. Are the central seed hoppers isolated from each other?
A. Yes, each hopper supplies one half of the planter. This means you can put a different variety in each hopper if you choose.
Q. Do you have an option for planting refuge acres on this machine?
A. Yes, simply plug the seed delivery tube from the SDS system and install a standard hopper on the rows you wish to plant your refuge.
Q. What about liquid fertilizer?
A. Liquid fertilizer is availible on all 3800 SDS sizes. One 500 gallon tank is provided on 3800 SDS 24-30". Two 300 gallon tanks, 600 gallons total, are provided on 32-30" and 36-30" sizes.
Q. Can I get a SDS planter with liquid fertilizer and refuge?
A. Yes. Because our refuge system is row unit mounted, we still have room to mount our liquid fertilizer tanks on the planter frame.
Q. How much seed is needed in the system to get seed in every row?
A. You need about ¼ bushel of seed per row to charge the entire system. 24 Row – 3 bushels per central hopper, 6 bushels total. 32 Row – 4 bushels per central hopper, 8 bushels total. 36 Row – 4.5 bushels per central hopper, 9 bushels total. |
